Affiliate Marketing Council best practice guide for mobile launched

With the significant growth of both traffic and transactions tracked through mobile devices, it becomes increasingly important to remind affiliate marketers of the key considerations when working through the performance channel.

The Best Practice Committee of the IAB’s Affiliate Marketing Council has therefore prepared a document that acts as an brief overview of the size of the mobile opportunity and the challenges we all face to ensure it is optimised.

It is by no means an exhaustive document, focusing primarily on the importance of advertisers adding mobile tracking to their m-commerce platforms. It therefore focuses on sales tracked through handsets, rather than other aspects of mobile marketing such as Paid Search and Call Tracking.

In time it is likely the AMC will look to provide follow up, supplementary work on the mobile channel.

Commenting on the mobile best practice guide AMC Chair Helen Southgate said:

Mobile growth over the last year has been phenomenal so it is important that the affiliate channel understands best practice in this area and also how the channel can be optimised to provide more value for advertisers and generate more income for the affiliate channel. 

“This guide offers a view on current best practice for advertisers and agencies.”
